BEEF STEAK WITH VEGETABLES-A CHINESE DISH


      CHINESE BEEF STEAK WITH VEGETABLES




Beef with vegetables is one of my all time favorite.My children and me always would like to order this recipe as a starter when we go out for a lunch or dinner.After 10 years I am trying  this recipe in my kitchen.We can prepare this in a dry type too.. But here I have  prepared in a gravy form...

                            INGREDIENTS
  • Beef steak                    -   1/2 kg piece
  • Garlic powder                 -   1 tsp
  • Soya sauce                    -   2+2 tb sp dark
  • Worcestershire sauce          -   2 tb sp
  • Pepper powder                 -   1+1/2 tsp
  • Corn flour                    -   2 tbsp
  • Onions diced                  -   1 big
  • Green bell pepper             -   1 medium
  • Carrots                       -   1
  • Celery                        -   as required
  • Spring onion                  -   2 stem
  • Ginger paste                  -   1.5 tbsp
  • Garlic paste                  -   1 tbsp
  • Tomato                        -   1
  • Salt to taste
                                            
                              METHOD





  • Boil the beef steak with 2 tbsp soyasauce  garlic powder , water and salt. Cook in a cooker for 12-15 mins.




  • Dice all the vegetables and keep aside.




  • Heat a pan and saute ginger paste.



  • Cut the steak into thin slices and keep aside.Do not throw away the beef cooked syrup(stock)keep this also aside.






  • Saute garlic paste too.




  • Add diced vegetables to it and saute for 3 mins.




  • Add the sliced steak  to it.




  • Add 1/2 tsp pepper powder and salt to it.




  • Beef stock, keep this also aside.






  • Leave 1/4 cup stock and add the stock to it




  • Add cornflour to 1/4 cup stock and mix well.






  • Boil this for 5 mins in very low flame.


  • Finally add the cornflour  solution to it. When the gravy thickens switch off the flame and serve hot !!!!






ONION CURD RAITA




Today the little chef my Son, Daz Kriz has conquered the kitchen.He is preparing Onion Curd salad.All of you will be familiar with this easy recipe.We all prepare this in our day to day life for a sudden salad along with Roti,Rice etc..So check out his simple but awesome recipe friends...

                                                        INGREDIENTS

  • Onion                                       -  2 medium finely chopped
  • Tomato                                    -  1 medium finely chopped
  • Green chilies                           -  2 finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves                     -  1 tsp finely chopped
  • Curd                                        -  3/4 cup
  • Milk                                        -  1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves to garnish  
                                                       METHOD

  • Blend the curd and milk together in a bowl.

  • Add onion and tomatoes.Mix well.



  • Add coriander and chilly.



  • Mix well together in a bowl.


  • Add curd.


Now garnish the salad with coriander leaves.Our Onion Raita is ready now!!!

BEETROOT PACHADI

Beetroot pachadi is a an authentic South Indian side dish.This is prepared with coconut, yogurt,mustard seeds, jeera, shallots ginger, garlic etc.This is one of the  main side dishes for Onam sadya. The color of this pachadi attracts every one.So today we  will prepare this delicious pachadi....

                                                       INGREDIENTS
  • Beet root chopped                           -   1 big
  • Onions  chopped                             -    1 big
  • green chilies chopped                     -    3
  • Ginger chopped                              -    1/2 tsp
  • Coconut grated                               -    1 cup
  • Shallots                                          -    6
  • Jeera powder                                 -    1/2 tsp
  • Mustard powder                              -   1/2 tsp
  • Garlic                                             -   5 
  • Curd thick                                      -   3/4 cup
  • Salt  to taste
  • Oil                                                 -   1 tbsp
  • Mustard seed                                  -   1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves                                   -   1 sprig
  • Dry red chilly                                 -    2 cut into pieces
  • Fenu greek powder                        -    a pinch
                                                    METHOD





  •  Chop the beetroot and keep aside.




  •  Chop onions, green chilies, and ginger and keep aside.




  •  Wash and boil the chopped beetroot in a bowl with salt and water.




  •  Add onions, green chilies and ginger to it and cook for 15 mins.




  •  Grind the coconut with shallots,ginger 1/2  piece,garlic 5-6, jeera powder and mustard powder  with little water.




  •  Finally add the curd to the grinding masala and grind smoothly.




  •  When the water disappears, switch off the flame.




  •  Add the grinded masala to it and heat while stiring for 2 mins. Do not boil it.




  •  Heat a pan add some oil and splutter the mustard seeds.




  •  Add red chilies and curry leaves and a pinch of fenugreek powder to it and off the flame.






  •  Garnish this with the fried items and serve....



The tasty Beetroot pachadi is ready to serve !!!!!!

PRAWNS FRITTERS or CHEMMEN VADA


                       PRAWNS FRITTERS-CHEMMEN VADA



Chemmen vada or Prawns fritters is an Indian - Keralite side dish or a Snack item.It is an all time favorite of mine and for the Prawns fans..While grinding the masalas with prawns gives the dish a real yummy taste.I received First prize for preparing this recipe for one of the competitions held recently.So I thought of sharing the recipe to all the Foodies..Am sure you all will like this tasty fritters.
                                                      
                                                   INGREDIENTS
  • Prawns                          -  20 to 25 nos or 1/4 cup cleaned and de-veined.
  • Coconut grated             -  1 cup
  • Green chilies                -  3(This chilly is too hot so I am using only 3)
  • Ginger paste                 -  1/2 tsp
  • Garlic paste                  -  1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder        -  1/2 tsp
  • Fennel powder              -  1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves                 -  1 sprig
  • Coriander leaves          -   as required
  • Shallots                        -   6 to 8 
  • Pepper corns                -   10 nos
  • Cloves                          -   6 to 8 nos
  • Cinnamon                    -   1 stick
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder        - 1/4 tsp optional

                                              METHOD


  • Keep it ready by side.


  • First grind the dry masalas like cinnamon, cloves and pepper corns.Then grind the green leaves like coriander leaves and curry leaves.


  • Next grind the remaining ingredients except cleaned prawns.



  • Mix the prawns with the grinded masala and whip the mixie for 5  to 10 secs. Do not grind more.


  • Remove the masla to a plate and mix it with our finger.



  • Make small vadas and keep aside.

  • Heat some oil in a kadai and fry all the vadas  till golden brown.


Here is your yummy prawns fritters.. Enjoy it....
