Shorba Chicken is a delicious soupy type of chicken dish.It is a traditional  cuisine of Afghan.The Persian term SHORBA means a soup of Eurasia.This dish can be prepared using Mutton or combination of both chicken and mutton too.So guys let us now watch the step by step traditional recipe of Afghan.....


                                                   
                                                          INGREDIENTS
  • Chicken boneless                                   --       400 gms
  • Onion chopped                                       --       1 small
  • Ginger paste                                           --       1 tsp
  • Garlic paste                                            --       1tsp
  • Salt to taste 
  • Pepper powder                                      --       1/2 tsp
  • Onions finely chopped                          --       2 medium
  • Tomato chopped                                   --       2 medium
  • Green chilies slited                             --       6
  • Ginger paste                                          --      1 tbsp
  • Garlic paste                                           --      1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder                               --      1 tsp
  • Curd                                                      --      1/ 2 cup
  • Chilly powder                                       --      2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder                          --     3/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder                                  --     1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder                                      --     1/2 tsp
  • Water                                                    --      2 cup
  • Coriander leaves                                   --      as required
                                                               METHOD



  • Place the chicken in a bowl.Add 1 small onion and ginger garlic paste to it.


  • Add salt and pepper powder to it.


  • Mix well and keep aside for 20 mins.




  • Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions and green chillies to it.

  • Add ginger paste to it.


  • Add gsrlic paste to it.


  • Add coriander powder to it.


  • Add red chilly powder to it.


  • Add pepper powder and turmeric powder to it.


  • Add chicken and saute well.


  • Add curd to it and mix well.


  • Add chopped tomatoes to it and saute well.


  • Now add 2 cups of water to it.


  • Add garam masala to it.


  • When the gravy thickens like a soup , switch off the flame.


  • Add coriander powder to it and stir well.


  • Serve it on a bowl.
                 Our Afghan special Shorbha Chicken is now ready to serve hot!!!

CHICKEN MOLEE

Chicken molly or fish molly  is a traditional Christian dish.Every year for  Easter and Christmas this dish is an unavoidable dish in all families. Now a days this is very popular in all religion.This dish makes a good combination with like Appam , Pathiri Chappathi, Rice etc.Chicken Molly will be more spicy compared to Fish Molly.The masala paste used here is a combination of ginger, garlic turmeric, mustard and green chillies.The dish makes  more tasty by adding this masala. So guys try out with the same ingredients as written here and follow my step by step cooking.

                                                   INGREDIENTS

To marinate
  • Chicken Thigh                --  4
  • Ginger paste                   --  1 tsp
  • Garlic paste                    --  1 tsp
  • Salt                                 --  to taste
  • Turmeric powder           --  1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder         --  1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder   --  1/2tsp
  • Vinegar                          --  1 tsp
For Masala paste
  • Ginger paste                 --  1 tsp
  • Garlic paste                  --  1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder         --  3/4 tsp
  • Mustard powder          --  1/2 tsp
  • Green chilly                 --  2
  • Tomato slice                --  2  slice
For preparing Gravy
  • Onions sliced              --  2 big
  • Green chilies              --  8 slited
  • Tomato                       --  2 sliced
  • Crushed red chilly      --  1.5tsp
  • Salt   to taste
  • Coconut milk             --  2 to 3 cup
  • Vinegar                      --  5 ml 
  • Curry leaves              --  as required

                                                  METHOD

  •  In a bowl , add chicken , garlic paste and ginger paste to it.  

                          
  • Then add turmeric powder  to it.


  •  Then add red chilly powder to it.


  •  Now add salt to it.


  •  Finally add garam masala powder and a tsp vinegar to it.


  •  Mix well and keep aside for 30 mins.


  •  Take a non stick kadai and place all chicken thighs on it. Do not add oil to it.


  •  Cook this in low flame.


  •  To grind the masala take ginger paste, garlic paste, mustard powder and turmeric powder.




  • Now  add 2 green chilies,3-4 slice tomato and make a fine paste. Tomato is added to it to make the grinding easier.

                                     

  • Keep ready the sauting items.


  •  Keep ready the cooked chicken aside.


  •  In the same kadai add some oil.


  •  Add sliced onions and slitted green chillies to it. Saute well.


                                     

                                      

  •  Add salt to it and saute again.Saute only till the onions becomes tender.




  •  Now add the grinded masala  to it.


  •  Saute well .



  •  Now add crushed red chilly to it.


  •  Add the tomato slices to it.


  •  Saute for 2-3 mins.



  •  Add coconut milk to it.


  •  Add vinegar to it.


  •  Mix well and allow it to boil.


  •  Add fried chicken to it.



  •  When the gravy thickens switch off the flame and serve.
