ROSE MILK

                                  ROSE MILK


Rose milk is a summer drink. All children love this.This is made with chilled milk, ice cubes,sugar, essence and colour.It is too hot now a days so guys try this  and allow yourselves to get cooled in Summer!!!!

                     INGREDIENTS

  • Chilled milk              - 1 pkt
  • Sugar                         -  to taste
  • Ice cubes                   - 1 cup
  • Rose essence            -  3 drops
  • Strawberry colour  - 2 pinch
                    METHOD



  •  In a mixer bowl add chilled milk,, sugar, ice cubes, essence and colour.Blend for 3-4 mins.



  •  Pour this juice to a glass and serve it chilled!!

FLATTENED RICE UPPUMA(POHE UPPUMA)

                  FLATTENED RICE UPPUMA


This recipe can be prepared as a breakfast or a snack.It is really a simple and tasty dish.If we want we can have this dish along with curry also.This rice flakes are made by flattening the rice.In market different types of rice flakes are available.White flakes and Rose flakes are available.Thin flakes and thick flakes are also available.White flakes are made from white rice and rose flakes are made from pink raw rice.

                         INGREDIENTS

  • Flattened rice/pohe/Aval    -2 cups  .Sprinkle the rice flakes with water.For thick flakes you can keep it under running water in a colander to soak properly. Here I have used thin flakes,so I just sprinkle the required water over it.Add little salt and toss it,then remove the lumpsand.Keep it aside.
  • Cabbage                          - 1/2 cup
  • Beans                             - 6 to 8 nos finely chopped
  • Carrot                            - 1/2 cup Julian cut
  • Onions sliced                - 3 small
  • Green chilly                  - 4 nos slited
  • Ginger                            - 1/2 Tsp
  • Grated coconut            - 3/4 to 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves  to garnish
  • Mustard seed               - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves                - 1 sprig
  • Red chilly                     -2 cut into pieces
  • Garlic                            -6 flakes crushed


                     METHOD


  •  Keep all the vegetables ready by side.


  •  Heat a kadai and add the crushed garlic, when it becomes golden brown remove from the kadai.This is doing for getting flavour to the oil and dish.


  •  Now add mustard seed,red chilly and curry leaves


  •  Add the sliced onions, ginger, and green chillies.Saute for some time .


  •  Add the vegetables and saute till it becomes tender. Do not overcook the vegetables.





  •  Add salt to it


  •  Now add coconut to it and close the pan with a lid for 3-5 mins.


  •  Cook this in low flame only. After 2 mins toss it and close it again.


  •  After 5 mins mix well and switch off the flame.


  •  Add coriander leaves and serve.



  • The tasty flattened rice uppuma is ready to serve hot..

POACHED EGG CURRY(BROKEN)

                POACHED EGG CURRY



This egg curry is my sister in law's favourite dish...I made little changes to this recipe .
Poached egg curry means an egg dropped from the egg shells and cooked in a gravy in low flame for about 3 mins each side.Inspite of boiled egg curry this is more tastier. So guys try this awesome recipe.

         INGREDIENTS

  • Egg                            -  4
  • Onions                     - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Ginger chopped     - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic                     - 6 cloves crushed
  • Coconut milk          - 2 cups
  • Turmeric powder  - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilly powder - 1.5 tsp
  • Coriander leaves   - As required
  • Oil


           METHOD



  •        First, in hot oil saute some crushed garlic till it becomes golden brown.Then remove this from the pan.This is doing to get garlic flavour to curry.



  •  Add chopped ginger and onions to it.

  • Saute it till it becomes tender. Then add turmeric powder.


  • Add red chilly powder 


  •  Saute for 2 mins in low flame.


  •  Add ccoconut milk and salt to it.


  •  Allow it to boil.


  •  When it boils, now crack the eggs one by one and drop the eggs carefully to the boiling gravy and do not stir it. Keep it closed with a lid for 3 mins


  •  After 3 mins slowly flip it and allow to cook for 3 mins more.


  •  When the gravy thickens garnish with coriander leaves and take it off from fire.


  • It can b e served along with Rice, naan, chappathi, paratha, dosa etc...
