BREAD PUDDING

                                                       BREAD PUDDING



Dessert is an all time favorite dish for all especially for the sweet lovers.Pudding is one of the dessert item and it can be  savory dish also.After lunch or a dinner every one prefers to have a dessert.I have prepared a pudding today  a BREAD PUDDING. I m sure everyone will try this.

                         INGREDENTS



  • Bread slice                                         - 5 slices.( Crush the bread in a mixie and keep aside)
  • Powdered Sugar                                -  1/3 cup(While powdering add a pinch f nutmeg)
  • Condensed milk                                - 1/4 cup
  • Egg                                                   - 4 nos
  • Thick Milk                                       - 1 cup
  • Pineapple emulsion essence            -  1/4 tsp
  • Sugar                                               - 1/3 cup
                      METHOD




  •  In a bowl,add the eggs and powdered sugar. Beat them well.


  •  Add condensed milk to it and beat again.


  •  Add milk to it and beat again.


  •  Now add the crushed bread and mix well.


  •  Finally,add the  essence and mix together.


  •  Keep this aside.


  •  Prepare caramel by adding 1/3 cup of  sugar in a hot kadai. Do not add water.Keep stirring till the sugar dissolves.


  •  When it caramelized switch off the flame.


  •  Pour this caramel syrup in a greased tray.


  •  Now add the beaten mixture to it.



  •  Cover it with an aluminium foil and steam this in a steamer for 90 mins.


  •  Allow it to cool.Then cut the sides of the pudding and invert it to a plate.



  • Serve this bread pudding in a serving plate.


CHICKEN MEZHUKKUPURATTI

                           CHICKEN MEZHUKKUPURATTI


There are a number of variety in Chicken dishes.Today I am preparing a simple dish with chicken.It's a CHICKEN MEZHUKKUPURATTI...It requires little masala for this dish and is very tasty.Try out this chicken mezhukkupuratti next time when you want something new and easy to prepare with chicken.

                           INGREDIENTS


  • Chicken                            -  500 gms ( cut into small pieces)
  • Shallots                            -  2 cups ( cut into small piece and crush it)
  • Garlic                               - 1 Bulb crushed
  • Ginger                              - 1 piece
  • Green chillies(red)           - 2
  • Mustard seeds                  - 1/4 tsp
  • Crushed red chilly flakes - 2 Tbsp
  • Kashmiri chilly powder   - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeic powder              - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder                -  as required
  • Fennel seed powder        - 1/4tsp
  • Garam masala powder    - a pinch
  • Coriander leaves             - as required
  • Curry leaves                    - 3 to 4 sprigs
  • Coconut oil                     -  3Thsp
  • Salt

                              METHOD


  • Crush ginger,garlic,red chillies and shallots.Keep aside.


  • In a kadai, heat some coconut oil and splutter the mustard seeds.






  • Add the crushed ginger and garlic and saute  till it becomes brown.


    • Add the  crushed onions and green chilles to it.
                                          



    • Now add the crushed red chilly flakes and saute well.



                                          

    • Add the turmeric powder  and saute for 1 min more.

                                       
         
                                          

    • Now add kashmiri chilly powder to it Adding this will give  a red color to the dish.


    • Now add chicken pieces to it.



    • Saute till the colour of chicken changes.


    • Add pepper powder to it.

    • Add fennel powder and salt to it.Mix well.


    • Close this with a lid and cook for 20 mins.


    • When the gravy coats on chicken switch off the flame.


    • And add corriander leaves and mix well.


    • Finally add 4 sprigs of curry leaves  and serve.


    • Garnish it and serve with rice, chappathi, porotta etc.

    GIANT TARO ROOT MASALA CHICKEN (CHEMBUM CHICKENUM)

    GIANT TARO plant is a large ever green plant with extremely large spreading leaves. Giant taro root is an underground vegetable.The shoot and root are used to cook...Here I m using the taro root.
    I m presenting a combination of Taro root and chicken. All of us have heard about KAPPA & BEEF(TAPIOCA & BEEF).It is a Nadan style preparation. This recipe is another combination like that.Watch out my step by step preparation...and Enjoy guys!!!!

                               INGREDIENTS
    • Taro root(Kandi chembu)      -  2 medium
    • Chicken pieces                         -   250 gm
    • Onions  chopped                     -   2 medium
    • Green chillies                          - 2 cut into pieces
    • Ginger and Garlic crushed   -  1 tb
    • Coriander powder                 - 2 Tb sp
    • Red chilly powder                 -  2tsp
    • Turmeric powder                  - 1/4+ 1/2 tsp
    • Pepper powder                      -  1/4 tsp
    • Fennel seed powder             - 1/2 tsp
    • Garam masala                       - 3/4 tsp    
    • Curd                                         -  1 tbsp
    • Mustard seed                         -  1/4 tsp
    • Oil                                            - 2-3 tbsp
    • Coriander leaves                  -  as required
    • Curry leaves                          - as required
    • Salt to taste
                                METHOD





    • Cut the taro root and wash 3-4 times.Move this to a pressure cooker and add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, some salt and after first whistle slow down the flame and cook for 5 mins .When it is cooked remove the water by straining.



    •  Heat a pan, add some oil and add the mustard seeds.


    •  When it pops, add the crushed ginger garlic and saute till light brown.


    •  Now add onion, green chillies and some curry leaves to it.



    •  Soak the masala in little water.


    •  Add this masala to it.



    • When the masala becomes dry add some water to it Saute it again till the water dries up and oil appears.



    •  Now add the chicken pieces to it.


    •  Add curd to it and mix well.


    •  Add salt to it and mix well.


    •  Cover it with a lid and cook in low fire.



    •  When it starts boiling water will come out.

    • When the water dries,and the masala coated in chicken add some coriander leaves and mix well.


    •  Now add the cooked Taro root to this and crush the taro root well with a hard spatula.


    • Mix properly and our Taro root masala chicken is ready to use.......
