Dal Vada or Parippu Vada is a perfect tea time snack item.It is a traditional snack item in India.Though it is prepared all over India, today I am going to prepare this snack in Kerala style.This Vada is prepared with Bengal Gram dal.There are many good combination to serve this snack.It can be served along with a yummy chutney , plantain, tea etc.People usually tempt to have this vada during the monsoon time along with a hot black tea or coffee.It is now available everywhere like in street food, restaurants.So let us see the preparation right now....
INGREDIENTS
- Bengal Gram dal - 250 gms ( Soak this in water for 2-3 hrs)
- Onion chopped - 1/4 cup
- Green chillies chopped - 4 nos
- Ginger chopped - 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves chopped - 1 sprig
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilly flakes - 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida - a pinch
- Soda powder - a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Oil to fry
METHOD
- Chop the veggies and keep it aside.
- Coarsely grind the soaked dal and add turmeric powder, red chilly flakes, asafoetida,salt.
- Then add the chopped veggies to it and mix with hands.
- Make balls and flatten it with hands.
- Heat the oil in a kadai and fry till crispy.
- Serve it along with Black Tea and Plantain..ENJOY!!!
