Pepper Beef Roast is an authentic Kerala spicy recipe.It is a dry type recipe and is served as a side dish. Pepper powder and Coriander powder are the main ingredients that I have used here.Now a days doctors recommend to use pepper more than red chilly since it has antibacterial properties.It is rich in vitamin K, vitamin C,potassium and dietary fiber too.So now a days I have started using pepper more in my home.Now let us see the preparation.....
INGREDIENTS
- Beef chopped - 500 gms
- Ginger paste - 1 tsp
- Garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Vinegar - 1 tbsp
- Onion sliced - 3 nos
- Ginger paste for sauteing - 1 tbsp
- Garlic paste for sauteing - 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Pepper powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
- Capsicum diced - 1/2 part of a capsicum
- Coriander leaves - as required
- Oil
METHOD
- In a pressure cooker add the cleaned beef, 1 tsp garlic paste , 1 tsp ginger paste,1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp pepper powder, vinegar ,salt and mix it well. Steam this for 15 mins after a high whistle.After 15 mins turn off the flame and allow the pressure to come down.If there is plenty of water , allow it to dry under flame.
- Heat a kadai and add some oil.When it becomes hot add the sliced onions to it.
- Add ginger paste and garlic paste to it.
- Saute it till it becomes light brown.
- Add coriander powder to it.
- Then add pepper powder and saute it well.
- Now add the turmeric powder and mix it.
- Add garam masala and combine well.
- Add the diced capsicum to it.
- And add the cooked beef to it and saute for some time.
- Let the masala coats the meat.
- Add salt if required.
- Cook till it turns to a brown color.Now it is ready to serve. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot along with hot rice or chappati.
