KADAI PRAWNS
Hi Foodies....Today I am presenting a recipe which is one of my favourite recipes named KADAI PRAWNS.Chicken kadai is one of the most popular North Indian dishes.I tried out the same recipe with Prawns.A karahi is a type of thick, circular, and deep cooking-pot used in Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Nepalese cuisine.So it can also be called as PRAWNS Karahi.
INGREDIENTS
For marination
- Prawns/Jhinga - 12 nos with tail
- Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
For sauting
- Ginger paste - 1 tbsp
- Garlic paste - 1.5 tsp
- Onions chopped - 1 big
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Jeera powder - a pinch
- Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
- Tomato - 1 medium cut into big pieces
- Capsicum - 1/2 cut into big pieces
- Salt to taste
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Oil - 4 tb sp
- Coriander leaves - as required
METHOD
- Marinate the prawns for 30 minutes with all the marinating ingredients as listed above.
- Heat oil in a kadai and add ginger paste to it.
- Saute it for 2 mins. Then add garlic paste and saute it till light brown.
- Now add the chopped onions and saute it again.
- Add turmeric powder to it.
- Add coriander powder to it.
- Add red chilly powder to it .
- Add jeera powder and saute well.
- Add pepper powder to it.
- Add garam masala powder to it and mix well.
- Now add the prawns and saute well.Add salt too.
- Add tomatoes to it.
- Add capsicum now.
- Mix well and add water to it.Allow to cook in low flame till the gravy thickens.
- Here is the yummy kadai prawns ready to serve.
Serve it in a kadai and garnish with coriander leaves!!!
