                                         KADAI PRAWNS



Hi Foodies....Today I am presenting a recipe which  is one of my favourite recipes named KADAI PRAWNS.Chicken kadai is one of  the most popular North Indian dishes.I tried out the same recipe with Prawns.A karahi is a type of thick, circular, and deep cooking-pot used in Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Nepalese cuisine.So it can also be called as PRAWNS Karahi.

                                INGREDIENTS

    For marination
  • Prawns/Jhinga                -  12 nos with tail
  • Red chilly powder           -  1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder               -  1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder            -  1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
   For sauting
  • Ginger paste                 -  1 tbsp
  • Garlic paste                  -  1.5 tsp
  • Onions chopped            -  1 big
  • Turmeric powder           - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder          - 2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder          - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder              - 1/4 tsp
  • Jeera powder                - a pinch
  • Garam masala powder   - 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato                        - 1 medium cut into big pieces
  • Capsicum                     - 1/2 cut into big pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Water                         - 1/2 cup
  • Oil                              - 4 tb sp
  • Coriander leaves          - as required

                                METHOD




  • Marinate the prawns for 30 minutes with all the marinating ingredients as listed above.




  • Heat oil in a kadai and add ginger paste to it.




  • Saute it for 2 mins. Then add garlic paste and saute it till light brown.




  • Now add the chopped onions and saute it again.




  • Add turmeric powder to it.




  • Add coriander powder to it.




  • Add red chilly powder to it .




  • Add jeera powder and saute well.




  • Add pepper powder to it.




  • Add garam masala powder to it and mix well.




  • Now add the prawns and saute well.Add salt too.




  • Add tomatoes to it.





  • Add capsicum now.




  • Mix well and add water to it.Allow to cook in low flame till the gravy thickens.




  • Here is the yummy kadai prawns ready to serve.




Serve it in a kadai and garnish with coriander leaves!!!
