KOTTAYAM POMFRET FISH CURRY


                                               
          
                                                     INGREDIENTS

                            
                                          
               
                                                              Pomfret fish cleaned  1/2 kg


          corriander powder - 3 tb sp, kashmiri red chilly powder- 3 tbsp, Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp, mustard powder 1/4 tsp, renugreek powder 1/4 tsp, shallots crushed- 1/2 cup, ginger crushed- 2" piece,garlic 10 cloves crushed, green chillies crused- 3, curry leaves


In a pan , fry corriander powder, redchily powder, turmeric powder,fenugreek powder, mustard powder. And soak this powder in some water and keep aside


Take 3-4 nos Gambooge clean well in water. and soak it for sometime

                                                       METHOD

                                          

                                        Heat oil in a kadai, add 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds to it


                                    When the fenugreek pops up add 1/4 tsp mustard seeds


                                   Add crushed ginger n garlic together & saute for few mins


                                                      Add green chillies and saute again


                               Add crushed shallots and saute again till it becomes light brown


                                                   Add gambooge and saute for 1 min

 
                                          Now add the soaked gravy& salt and saute for 3-4 mins


                              Add little water and mix well and allow it to dry the gravy


                                                Now u can see the gravy gets roasted well


                                           Add 2 1/2 cups of water and make to boil


        When the gravy starts boiling, add the cleaned fish, make sure that the water is above the fish


                                      When the gravy gets thickens , Turn off the flame

Now its ready to serve
