BREAD FRUIT COCO KAJU HALWA




Halwas are sweet confections served widely in different varieties.We all are familiar with the common halwas made from Carrot, Pinapple,Milk etc.Bread Fruit Coco Kaju Halwa is the one of the most tastiest halwas.I am preparing this for the first time and it came out really well.I am sure you all would have prepared curry or chips with the  Bread fruit.But today I am sharing with you all a different recipe using bread fruit.I hope you all will give a try.So watch my step by step preparation....


                                                           INGREDIENTS
  • Bread fruit                                       - 300 gm
  • Cashew powdered                           - 80 gm
  • Milk powder                                   - 20gm
  • Sugar                                              - 3/4 cup
  • Dried coconut                                 - 50 gms powdered
  • Nestle condensed milk                   - 1/2 tin
  • Ghee                                               - 3 to 4 dessert sp
  • Cardamom powder                         - 1/2 tsp


                                                       METHOD

  •  Clean the  Bread fruit and cut into pieces.Cook in a pan with some water , a pinch of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder.


  •  Powder the cashews and keep it aside.


  •  Powder the dried coconut and take 1/2 tin condensed milk.Keep them aside.


  •  When it is cooked, mash it well to avoid formation of lumps.


  •  Then add sugar to it.Let it combine well.



  •  Mash it with a masher to get a smooth paste.


  • Add dried powdered coconut and mix it well. 



  •  Add  milk powder to it and stir well.



  •  Add  condensed milk to it.


  • Add cashew powder now.


  •  Stir well.


  •  Cook well on medium flame.When it starts becoming glossy add ghee little by little to it.Stir well continuously.



  •  Add 2 drops of pineapple essence to it and stir again.


  •  When it start tightening add little ghee to it .


  • Add cardamom powder to it.


  • After some time it becomes thick and leave out from the sides.When oil starts to come out, turn off the flame and transfer the mixture to a greased tray.


  •  Remove this halwa to a greased plate.


  •  Level it with a bottom greased plate.


  • Decorate with cashews and when it cools cut into required pieces.

                          Serve it on plate and Enjoy the yummy Halwa !!!!
