     SAMBHAR WITH AMMAYIS SPECIAL SAMBHAR PODI


Sambhar is a common South India dish prepared using different vegetables and different flavors depending upon the taste of people.In my kitchen I never use any ready made Sambhar powder instead I prepare my own Sambhar powder. The speciality of using home made sambhar powder is that we can prepare Sambhar in 15 minutes. No need to cook dal first and then veggies.I have prepared this sambhar powder by adding dal, this will reduce the time consumed for preparing.Just cook the veggies and add the masalas to it.

                                                             INGREDIENTS

I have used only few veggies here:-


  • Onion                                          -       1
  • Tomato                                       -       2
  • Potato                                         -       1
  • Carrot                                         -       1
  • Ladies finger                              -       3 to 4
  • Curry leaves                               -       as required
  •  Mustard                                     -       few
  •  Oil
  • Salt                                            -       to taste
  • Home made Sambhar powder  -       2-3 thsp grind with little water 
  • Tamarind                                  -       little soaked in water
  • Coriander leaves                      -       1/4 cup
                                                    METHOD


  • Chop all the vegetables and set aside.


  • Heat a kadai, add some oil and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves.




  • Now add all the vegetables and saute for 2 mins.



  • Add the tamarind water,salt to it and cook for some time.Since we have sauted the vegetables  it ll take only less time to cook.





  • When it is cooked add the grinded masalas to it.


  • Add coriander leaves to it.


Serve it on a plate along with rice and enjoy 
the real taste of sambhar!!
